Randy A Betton, AU1898L

Not surprisingly, Randy Betton was also enchanted by the auctioneer's song, as a young Ligonier lad attending sales with his grandfather. Eventually, he attended the Pennsylvania School of Auctioneering, and signed up for correspondence courses offered by Penn State University.

Randy earned his license in 1980, and teamed up with Mark two years later. His favorite auctions are estate sales, as much as a variety of items likely to come down through a family as the occasional gems that show up. One piece that stands out in his mind is a 19th century yellow sewing box decorated with flowers. He sold the item for $2,000 at a small, country sale near Norvelt, Pa.

Randy is the Vice President Elect for the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association for 2011.
